Hi, my name is Eyassu Shimelis (pronounced ee-ya-soo). I’m an Ethiopian-American who was born in Addis Ababa, grew up in Nairobi, and now live in Cambridge. I studied General Engineering at Harvey Mudd College in California, and now work in robotics. In my spare time I enjoy listening to Hip Hop and R&B; running; cooking; bouldering; and participating in educational outreach!

Developed distributed algorithms for performant network localization and navigation on low-cost devices.
Graduated from Harvey Mudd College
Bachelor’s of Science in General Engineering with Departmental Honors
Laspa Engineering Fellow in Autonomous Systems
Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Lab for Autonomous and Intelligent Robotics (LAIR) at HMC. Conducted research in shark tracking using multiple Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (UAVs).
